Finding Plays in the Catalog

Sample search for plays: (african americans) and d:(drama and not criticism)Most plays in the catalog will be tagged with the subjects Drama or Comedy. Therefore, in order to find plays in the catalog change the Any Field menu to SUBJECT and put in drama or comedy, depending on what you are looking for. If you are getting too many results that are literary criticism of plays, add "and not criticism" to the SUBJECT part of your search.

For example, if you wanted to find dramatic plays about African Americans you might search for "African Americans" on the first line and, after changing Any Field to SUBJECT on the second line, "drama and not criticism."

Sample search for collections of monologues for women: women and d:(monologues)

Alternately, if you need a monologue for class, you can search for collections of monologues by adding the subject "monologues" to your search.

For example, if you wanted monologues for women, you might search women as a keyword in one line and on the next search SUBJECT for monologues.
