Finding Fiction



By an Author vs. About an Author

If you do a regular search for an author in the library catalog, you will get a mix of books written by that author and books written about that author. Sometimes, that's what you want. At other times, you only want books by the author or books about the author. When that happens, there are special ways to search that limits the results to what you want.

When trying to find a book by a particular author, use the Author Search option. When trying to find a book about a particular author, use the Subject Search option. In both cases, enter the author's name in "Last Name, First Name" format. Ex: Austen, Jane
