ENG 101: The Environment

This guide directs you to resources on all aspects of the environment, whether the natural environment or man-made (the social, cultural environment).

Book Searching Tips

  • Use the truncation symbol * (asterisk)  to expand your search or allow for word variations.  For example:  type pollut* to find words such as pollute or pollution.
  • Look at the Subject Headings assigned to the book and link to more items.
  • When you find a print book browse the shelf for more works on the topic.

Reference Books

Reference Books are useful for providing definitions and overviews of topics.  Special Encyclopedia articles are usually written by specialists, include  references to scholarly articles, and identify the names and works of important researchers in the field.  Look for print and electronic reference works.
