Finding Gold OA

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
DOAJ is a large collection of OA journals that you can search through. You can also search for articles in those journals.
Google Scholar
Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature, including articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Connect Google Scholar to the library

Evaluating Gold OA Journals

Just like any scholarly journal, the quality, peer-review standards, and reputations of Gold OA journals can vary greatly. Check for information on how journals select the works they publish and what their peer-review process is like. Also, while the it is not without its critics, you can check this list of very low quality or fraudulent publishers maintained by Jeffery Beall, a librarian at the University of Colorado Denver.
