Counseling Research

This guide directs Counseling program students to resources most appropriate for their studies.

Databases for Counseling Research

Databases are search tools for finding scholarly articles for counseling research. They will search for citations to articles on a topic, some of which will have the text of the article in the database, some of which will like to the article in part of the library's collection, and some will cite articles that the library does not have access to. Articles without full text can be ordered for free through Interlibrary Loan.

Citation Index

Connects articles that cite each other, which are likely on similar topics. Good for putting together a literature review.

Interlibrary Loan (Articles)

If you cannot locate a journal article, use the Interlibrary Loan Forms.  A librarian will locate a library that owns the material and will send for what you need.

Before placing a request, check the Citation Finder to make sure Beeghly does not have a copy.
