Locating Articles about the Law

This guide is a brief introduction to locating different types of information on legal cases, from news reports and editorials to articles in law reviews, and the cases themselves.

Databases for Law

These search tools will find legal cases, articles in law reviews, news sources relating to the law, and more. If your topic is on how the law interacts with another subject area, find databses in that subject using the subject dropdown menu in Databases AZ

Legal Collection contains law revew articles and news about the law. LexisNexis contains those types of sources but also includes court cases.

These next three are good for news stories related to the law. Academic Search Complete will also have some law reviews.

These last databases are on subjects that are highly intertwined with law.

Government Documents

Interlibrary Loan (Articles)

If you cannot locate a journal article, use the Interlibrary Loan Forms.  A librarian will locate a library that owns the material and will send for what you need.

Before placing a request, check the Citation Finder to make sure Beeghly does not have a copy.
